New hope for breast cancer patients with rare brain and spine spread

NCT ID NCT06016387

First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining targeted drugs (tucatinib, trastuzumab, and capecitabine) with radiation to the brain and/or spine is safe and effective for people with HER2-positive breast cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain and spinal cord (leptomeningeal disease). About 30 participants will receive radiation first, then the drug combination. The goal is to see if this approach can help control the disease and improve survival.
