First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether cooling the body (therapeutic hypothermia) combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy can improve brain recovery in people with severe carbon monoxide poisoning. 37 adults who could not follow commands after treatment were randomly assigned to receive either cooling or normal temperature care, plus hyperbaric oxygen. The goal was to see if this approach reduces long-term thinking and memory problems.
