NCT ID NCT04975867

First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether cooling the body (therapeutic hypothermia) along with hyperbaric oxygen therapy helps prevent brain damage in people with severe carbon monoxide poisoning. 37 adults who could not follow commands after oxygen treatment were randomly assigned to receive either cooling or normal temperature care. The goal was to see which approach leads to better thinking and memory outcomes.
