Spinal zaps may restore balance after neck surgery
NCT ID NCT07298460
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether a gentle electrical stimulation of the spinal cord, combined with balance exercises, can improve balance in adults who still have trouble walking steadily after surgery for a neck condition called degenerative cervical myelopathy. About 45 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either real stimulation (to the mid-back or both neck and mid-back) or a sham treatment during 12 sessions over 4 weeks. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and effective enough to test in a larger trial.
