New Clot-Busting device could save lungs in pulmonary embolism emergency

Summary
This study tests a new device called the Laguna Thrombectomy System to remove blood clots from the lungs in people with pulmonary embolism. About 107 adults with a recent clot and stable blood pressure will receive the procedure. The goal is to see if the device safely reduces clot burden and improves heart function within 48 hours.
