Ancient herbal remedy takes on gold standard mouthwash in gum disease battle
NCT ID NCT07426393
Summary
This study tested whether a traditional herbal mouthwash called Triphala works as well as the standard chlorhexidine mouthwash for controlling plaque and gum inflammation (gingivitis). Researchers randomly assigned 220 adults with mild to moderate gingivitis to use either the herbal or standard mouthwash. The goal was to see if the herbal option could provide similar benefits with potentially fewer side effects like staining or bad taste.
