First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether an electronic decision-support tool helps doctors better diagnose and treat lower respiratory tract infections (like pneumonia) in hospitals in southern Sri Lanka. About 765 patients will take part, and researchers will compare outcomes and antibiotic use between hospitals using the tool and those providing usual care. The goal is to see if the tool can improve patient recovery while reducing unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions.
