New hope for traumatized families: personalized therapy order may ease PTSD
NCT ID NCT06065865
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a personalized treatment plan for mothers and their young children (ages 4-6) who experienced domestic violence and were living in a shelter. The plan combined trauma therapy (EMDR) for both parent and child with attachment-based parenting support, in an order tailored to each family's needs. The goal was to reduce PTSD symptoms and improve parenting behaviors. Only 3 families participated, so results are very preliminary.
