Can a simple ultrasound predict kidney trouble after major trauma?
NCT ID NCT07492511
First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at blood flow patterns in the kidneys and liver of adults admitted to the ICU after serious injuries. Researchers will use bedside ultrasound to check for abnormal patterns and see if they are linked to kidney failure or the need for a breathing machine. About 350 participants will be monitored for 72 hours, with a follow-up at 6 months. No new treatments are given—this is purely an observation to improve understanding.
