Radical transplant trial offers hope for incurable abdominal cancer
NCT ID NCT06084780
Summary
This study is testing whether transplanting intestines and other abdominal organs can help people with a rare, advanced abdominal cancer called pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) when standard surgery is not an option. Up to 20 participants will receive an intestinal or multivisceral transplant and be followed for one year to see if they survive and how they handle the procedure. The goal is to see if this major surgery is a safe and effective treatment for this difficult-to-treat condition.
