Nasal block may ease brain bleed headaches, cut opioid use

NCT ID NCT06621329

First seen Dec 10, 2025 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether a numbing injection inside the nose can help relieve severe headaches caused by a type of brain bleed called subarachnoid hemorrhage. About 40 adults with a secured aneurysm will receive either the nerve block plus standard pain meds or standard meds alone. The goal is to see if the block lowers pain scores and reduces the need for strong opioid painkillers during hospital stay.
