New chemo strategy aims to shrink rare sinus tumors and avoid major surgery

NCT ID NCT07320508

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study is for people with a rare and hard-to-treat sinus cancer called sinonasal adenoid cystic carcinoma. Researchers are testing a method where a high dose of the chemotherapy drug epirubicin is delivered directly to the tumor through a small tube in an artery. After three treatments, doctors will check if the tumor is gone; if so, patients may avoid surgery and just get radiation. The goal is to see if this personalized approach is safe and effective.
