Allergy drug trial offers new hope for common prostate problem

NCT ID NCT06689514

Summary

This early study is testing whether a drug called tranilast, currently used for allergies and scars, can safely reduce prostate size and improve urinary symptoms in men with an enlarged prostate (BPH). Researchers will enroll 30 men aged 55-75 with medium-to-large prostates to test two different doses. The goal is to see if this drug could become a new treatment option to control prostate growth and symptoms.
