First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at three different ways to schedule running workouts — polarized, pyramidal, and threshold — to see which one helps recreational runners improve their fitness and race times the most. Twenty-four runners followed one of the plans for 8 weeks. The goal was to measure changes in oxygen use, running efficiency, and 5-kilometer race performance.
