Scientists hunt source of dangerous lung infections in CF patients

NCT ID NCT05686837

Summary

This study aims to understand how people with cystic fibrosis (CF) catch nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) lung infections, which are difficult to treat. Researchers will follow 100 people with CF to see if infections spread between patients in healthcare centers or come from shared water sources. The goal is to identify where the infections come from to help prevent future outbreaks.
