Smart device aims to protect critically ill Patients' airways
NCT ID NCT01965821
Summary
This study tested a new electronic device designed to automatically keep the pressure in a breathing tube's cuff at the right level. It involved 18 critically ill patients in intensive care who were on mechanical ventilation. Researchers compared how well the device maintained proper pressure versus the usual manual method, checking if it reduced the risk of stomach fluids leaking into the lungs.
