Hidden link: weak core muscles may limit arm reach in back pain sufferers
NCT ID NCT07474610
First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at how a deep core muscle called the transversus abdominis (TrA) relates to arm movement and shoulder blade stability in people with chronic low back pain. Researchers will compare 90 adults (45 with back pain and 45 healthy) using ultrasound, reach tests, and shoulder measurements. The goal is to understand if core weakness affects upper body function, which could guide future treatments.
