Summary
This study looks at whether using a tourniquet during total knee replacement is necessary. A tourniquet is a tight band that stops blood flow to reduce bleeding during surgery. Researchers want to see if doing the surgery without a tourniquet works just as well. Thirty adults with knee osteoarthritis will be randomly assigned to have surgery with or without a tourniquet, and their blood loss, pain, and recovery will be compared.
