Could a simple touch during birth shorten labor and strengthen bonding?
NCT ID NCT06783972
Summary
This study tested whether a midwife gently touching the baby's head as it crowns during the pushing stage could shorten this final part of labor. Researchers also wanted to see if this touch improved the early interaction and bonding between the mother and her newborn baby. The study involved 68 first-time mothers with healthy, full-term pregnancies to see if this simple, cost-free action could make birth easier and more comfortable.
