Could a simple touch during birth shorten labor and strengthen bonding?

NCT ID NCT06783972

Summary

This study tested if a simple, cost-free action—touching the baby's head as it crowns during birth—could shorten the final stage of labor and improve the early bond between mother and baby. It involved 68 healthy, first-time mothers. Researchers measured how long pushing lasted and observed the mother's interactions with her newborn in the first two days after birth.
