First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding the immunotherapy drug toripalimab to chemotherapy before surgery can improve outcomes for people with a type of esophageal cancer that can be surgically removed. About 390 adults with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma will be randomly assigned to receive either the new combination or a standard chemotherapy regimen. The main goal is to see if the new approach leads to a higher rate of complete tumor disappearance after treatment.
