First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether applying tranexamic acid directly to the surgical site can reduce blood loss and the need for blood transfusions in adults undergoing spine surgery. About 252 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo (salt water) during their operation. The goal is to see if this simple approach makes surgery safer and reduces complications.
