First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether putting tranexamic acid directly on the spine during surgery can reduce blood loss and the need for blood transfusions. About 252 adults having spinal fusion for injury or deformity will be randomly assigned to get either the drug or a saltwater placebo. The goal is to see if this simple, targeted approach makes surgery safer and speeds recovery.
