First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether insulin eye drops can heal persistent corneal defects as well as amniotic membrane transplant, a surgical procedure. 214 adults with corneal defects that haven't healed after 2 weeks of standard care will receive either insulin drops or the transplant. Doctors will track how many eyes fully heal and how long it takes over 24 weeks.
