First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a vitamin D-based cream (calcipotriol) works as well as steroid injections for treating patchy hair loss from alopecia areata. Sixty adults with less than half their scalp affected will use either the cream daily or get injections every few weeks for 12 weeks. The goal is to see which treatment helps hair regrow better with fewer side effects.
