First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at three ways to treat deep cavities in children's baby molars without pulling the tooth. The treatments are two types of pulpotomy (removing part of the tooth nerve and placing a special material) and an indirect pulp treatment (placing a filling over the decay). The goal is to see which method works best to keep the tooth healthy and pain-free. The study involves 76 children and is being run by the University of Maryland.
