First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study compared two treatments for tonsillar abscess (a pus-filled infection near the tonsils): surgically removing the tonsils (tonsillectomy) or draining the abscess under local anesthesia. The goal was to see which approach works better. The trial included 42 adults and looked at how well each treatment cleared the infection and prevented it from coming back.
