Scientists scan healthy tongues to build a better sleep apnea test
NCT ID NCT07024069
Summary
This study tested a new, painless ultrasound method to measure the stiffness and fat content of the tongue in 55 healthy adults. The goal was to create a reliable and standardized measurement protocol. Researchers will use this protocol in future studies to better understand and screen for obstructive sleep apnea, a condition linked to tongue fat.
