Summary
This study tested a new, painless ultrasound method to measure tongue stiffness and fat content in 55 healthy adults aged 18-45. The goal was to create a standard protocol for future research on tongue fat accumulation, which is linked to sleep apnea. Participants lay on their backs while a technician used a handheld ultrasound device on their neck. The results will help doctors better understand tongue changes in sleep disorders.
