First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether using a special tongue brush (Orabrush) can lower the chance of aspiration pneumonia and improve swallowing in 252 stroke patients with swallowing problems. Patients were recruited from a stroke unit and followed for pneumonia rates, tongue coating, and hospital stay length. The goal is to find a simple, low-cost way to prevent a serious complication after stroke.
