First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests if applying a numbing cream before inserting a balloon catheter (used to start labor) can reduce pain. About 200 pregnant women will take part. Half get the real cream, half get a placebo, and neither they nor their doctors know which. The goal is to see if the cream makes the procedure more comfortable.
