First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding the drug tofacitinib to standard steroid treatment helps people with oral lichen planus, a chronic inflammatory mouth condition. About 60 adults with moderate to severe symptoms will receive either tofacitinib or a placebo pill alongside their usual steroid ointment for 12 weeks. The goal is to see if the combination reduces disease severity and pain more effectively than steroids alone.
