This study followed 385 adults with a first-time lung or head and neck cancer to see how many continued smoking or drinking alcohol over the first year. Researchers also looked at how these habits affected cancer progression and survival. The goal was to understand risk factors for persistent tobacco or alcohol use to help design better support programs.
