Zapping the brain to calm the stomach: new study for chronic nausea

NCT ID NCT07276035

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called TMS can change stomach activity and reduce nausea. Researchers will map brain areas that control the stomach and try different stimulation patterns. Healthy adults and people with chronic nausea (ages 21-60) can join. Participants will have up to 10 clinic visits, receive TMS while sitting in a chair, and drink water or eat a test meal.
