Brain-Mapping tech aims to sharpen depression treatment

NCT ID NCT05598931

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested a new computer system that uses MRI scans to guide a brain-stimulation technique called TMS. Twenty healthy volunteers had an MRI and then a TMS session to help researchers build and test the navigation software. The goal is to make TMS more precise for treating depression, but this early work focused on developing the technology, not on treating patients.
