Own blood vs. own blood: which injection eases jaw pain best?
NCT ID NCT06839326
First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested two treatments for jaw joint arthritis (TMJ osteoarthritis) that are made from a patient's own blood: platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and autologous conditioned serum (ACS). 75 adults who had not improved with standard care received one of these injections after a minor joint washout procedure. The goal was to see which injection better reduces pain and improves jaw movement.
