First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at 70 adults with a painful tooth infection (symptomatic apical periodontitis) to see if having a jaw joint problem called anterior disc displacement with reduction (ADDR) affects pain after root canal treatment. Participants recorded their pain levels for a week after the procedure. The goal was to understand if dentists should consider jaw joint issues when managing post-treatment pain.
