First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested whether a combination of active jaw techniques and neck motor control exercises can reduce pain and improve jaw function in people with temporomandibular disorder (TMD) and bruxism (teeth grinding). Sixty adults with chronic TMD pain took part. The experimental group received weekly jaw muscle energy therapy plus daily neck exercises for four weeks, while the control group got standard care and a placebo technique. The goal was to see if the active treatment leads to better pain relief and jaw mobility.
