Jawbone repair showdown: titanium vs. PEEK mesh in new study

NCT ID NCT07002931

First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested two different mesh materials used to rebuild the jawbone in 14 people who needed dental implants. One group received a pre-shaped titanium mesh, and the other a custom-made PEEK mesh. Both were filled with a mix of the patient's own bone and donor bone. The goal was to see which mesh worked better for gaining bone width and volume over 6 months.
