Titanium foil vs collagen: which builds jaw bone better?

NCT ID NCT07162727

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether a non-perforated titanium foil or a collagen membrane works better to regrow jaw bone in areas where bone has been lost. Eighteen adults with thin or flat ridges received one of the two materials during a bone-grafting procedure. Researchers measured bone height, width, and density using 3D X-rays at 3 and 6 months, and checked early healing at 1 week and 1 month.
