First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested two materials used to help grow new jawbone in areas where bone has shrunk. 18 healthy adults with narrow or flat ridges received either a titanium foil or a collagen membrane to guide bone regeneration. Researchers measured bone height, width, and density using 3D X-rays at 3 and 6 months, and checked early healing at 1 week and 1 month. The goal was to see which material works better for building enough bone to support dental implants.
