First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study takes tissue that would normally be thrown away after surgery and uses it to grow cells in the lab. The goal is to create better ways to study and repair tissues in the future. Up to 1,000 people having surgery at Wake Forest may participate. There is no direct benefit to participants, but the research may help advance tissue engineering.
