First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tests whether tirzepatide, a drug already used for type 2 diabetes, can improve how the body uses insulin and controls blood sugar in people with type 1 diabetes. About 44 adults with type 1 diabetes and a BMI of 27 or higher will receive either tirzepatide or a placebo for 6 weeks. Researchers will measure insulin sensitivity and hormone levels after meals and during low blood sugar events.
