Weekly shot aims to curb cravings for both alcohol and food

NCT ID NCT07292519

Summary

This study is testing whether a weekly injection called Tirzepatide, when combined with a computer-based therapy program, can help adults who struggle with both heavy alcohol use and being overweight. Researchers want to see if this approach reduces the number of heavy drinking days and also improves weight and other health markers. The study will involve 46 participants who will receive either the real injection or a placebo (a look-alike with no drug) for 8 weeks, along with weekly therapy sessions.
