Weekly shot tested to curb drinking and shed pounds

NCT ID NCT07292519

Summary

This study is testing if a weekly injection called Tirzepatide, combined with a computer-based therapy program, can help adults who struggle with heavy drinking and are also overweight or obese. The main goal is to see if this approach reduces the number of days people drink heavily over an 8-week period. Researchers will also check if it helps with weight loss and improves markers of heart health and diabetes risk.
