Hospital hunts for hidden tick disease in mystery brain illnesses

NCT ID NCT07186881

Summary

This study looks at whether changing how doctors test for tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) helps find more cases. Researchers will review the medical records of about 200 children and adults hospitalized at a French hospital with unexplained brain or spinal cord inflammation. The goal is to see if reminding doctors to test for TBE leads to more diagnoses and better care for this tick-transmitted virus.
