Hospital hunts for hidden tick disease in mystery brain illnesses

NCT ID NCT07186881

Summary

This study looks at whether changing how doctors test for tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) helps find more cases. Researchers will review medical records of about 200 patients at a French hospital who had unexplained brain or spinal cord inflammation. The goal is to see if encouraging doctors to test for TBE more often leads to better diagnosis and care for this tick-transmitted virus.
