Black seed compound shows promise for diabetic nerve pain in new trial

Summary
This study tested whether adding thymoquinone (a compound from black seed oil) to the standard pain drug pregabalin could better relieve nerve pain in people with diabetes. 50 adults with diabetic peripheral neuropathy took 65 mg of thymoquinone and 75 mg of pregabalin daily for two months. The goal was to see if the combination improved pain, nerve function, and markers of inflammation.
