Summary

This study looked at whether strengthening a small thumb muscle (first dorsal interosseous) can help people with thumb osteoarthritis. 160 adults who already use a thumb splint were enrolled. Researchers measured pinch strength and pain levels after 12 weeks of the strengthening program.
