Dry eye alert: simple test may spot hidden nerve damage early
NCT ID NCT06482164
First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This completed study looked at 31 dry eye patients to see how many had early-stage neurotrophic keratopathy (NK), a condition where the cornea loses feeling. Researchers used a simple touch test to measure corneal sensitivity. The goal was to find out if this test could help predict which patients might later need a special treatment called rhNGF to keep their vision sharp.
